Xenon Bulbs

Over the last few years  Xenon Bulbs have become extremely popular to use on vehicles. There's not a night that goes by that you find yourself drawn to look on the opposite side of the road, noticing a cars lighting,  and wondering why that car has whiter lights than yours. Well, what you are seeing are Xenon Bulbs. Xenon is a relatively new technology - but although being new, it can be found on many cars all over the World. Whether fitted as OEM or used as an upgrade they will make a huge difference to your nightime driving.

It is now fact that Xenon Bulbs can produce up to 50% more light in comparison to your standard stock Halogen bulbs - which in terms of safety is a big deal!. They produce a beautiful crisp white light that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but a big improvement on night time driving. This white light is close to the colour of daylight, and can help reduce tiredness and imrove the visibility on the road at night, covering up to 50% more of the road.

The light that is given off a Xenon Bulb is actually cooler than that of its counterpart the Halogen Bulb - however, they do give off a little more heat. They also can last longer than Halogen Bulbs making them a more cost effective alternative.

Xenon Bulbs come in a variety of different Kelvin Ratings. You may have heard of the term Kelvin Rating. Kelvin simply means the colour temperature at which the bulbs burn. It is very common for people to think that the higher the Kelvin Rating (Colour Temperature) the more light you will get - unfortunately, this is not true. The Colour Temperature determines the colour of the bulb, and not how bright they will be. The true Colour Temperature of a Super White Xenon Bulbs is 6000 Kelvins (K), but now Xenon Bulbs come in a variety of different colour temperatures such as 5000k, 6000k, 8000k, 10000k. The higher up the Kelvin Rating you go the more Blue-ish - Purple the colour becomes.

The technology of Xenon has now expanded from not just the main headlights of a car, but are now available in the form of Xenon Sidelight Bulbs, Dipped Beam Bulbs and Fog Light Bulbs.
